In honor of Veteran’s Day, at 11:11 a.m. on Nov. 11th, the cadets from the JROTC program at Houghton High School, supported by the school’s band and choir, will present the 2026 Veteran’s Day program. The program will include a presentation of colors, a rifle drill performance, a presentation of service flags from each of the military branches, a flag folding demonstration, and a POW/MIA commemoration ceremony. The cadets, as well as a guest speaker from the local community, will speak on the significance of this day.
Students at Houghton High School and staff with classes in the building 4th hour will attend this event. In addition, all community members are welcome to attend. Veterans in attendance will be honored for their service. If you plan to attend, please intend on arriving 15 minutes early. Parking is located by the glass doors, which is also the entryway to the event, held in the high school gymnasium. The program will be live-streamed over the Houghton High School Facebook site for those who are unable to attend in person.
