Houghton County and the Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region, better known as WUPPDR, is developing a new five-year recreation development plan for 2026-2030 and is seeking participants for a survey, its goal is to collect information on the types of recreational opportunities and sites community members would like to see developed, maintained, and/or improved. This information will help prioritize funding and increase the county’s understanding of community recreation needs.
The ten-question survey also gives the public an opportunity to give feedback on the proposed improvements to recreation sites in Houghton County. Interested participants may complete the survey on paper at the Houghton County Courthouse or as an online form. Responses are requested by Nov. 30 and are entirely confidential. Those who would like to fill the survey out electronically can do so at the link on their website.
