On the volleyball schedule last night…
- Houghton lost at Kingsford 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-15).
- Calumet got past Gwinn 3-1 (25-11, 24-26, 25-14, 25-17). Chloe Coppo had 17 kills, 6 blocks, and a 10-point service run to end set four.
Annika Stafford had 16 kills. - Hancock handed Baraga its first loss of the season, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-17).
- Lake Linden-Hubbell swept Jeffers 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-15). Payton Goldsworthy had two seven-point service runs for the Lakes.
- West Iron County fell to Negaunee 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-14).
- Forest Park dispatched Norway (25-10, 25-15, 25-14).
The Houghton cross country teams swept their own invitational yesterday on the Tech Trails…
- On the girls side, L’Anse finished second, and Calumet fourth. Holly Cooke of the Gremlins took individual honors.
- Jeffers placed second on the boys side. The Gremlins’ Brandon Van Karsen claimed the top spot.
