As the inaugural week of the 2026-2027 academic year comes to a close, the new and returning students at Michigan Tech are back in the swing of things and encouraged to participate in the plethora of activities and events planned for the near future.
“The whole month of September is filled with different activities, including, in addition to Welcome Week, we also have Homecoming week and also the Festival of Nations that will be happening on September 19th…” explains Kelli Rafalli, Dean of Students at Michigan Tech, “students have lots of different activities to look forward to both on campus and in the community.”
With Welcome Week ending, the next thing for students to look out for is Homecoming week from September 14th through 19th, which is full of activities such as an escape room challenge, the annual Homecoming football game at Kearly Stadium , and the famous cardboard boat race.
On September 19th, Michigan Tech will celebrate its multicultural makeup with the Festival of Nations held at Dee Stadium. A reworked version of the Parade of Nations held in previous years, the Festival will feature international foods and cultural experiences.
