MLB
The Tigers lost 6-1 to the Dodgers yesterday. Framber Valdez allowed three runs over six innings. Tanner Rainey gave up the other three runs in the eighth inning, including two on wild pitches. Kevin McGonigle singled home Gleyber Torres with Detroit’s only run in the fourth.
The Tigers have dropped 12 of their last 15, and visit the Twins tonight. Jackson Jobe will start against Taj Bradley. Coverage will begin at 7:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers’ four-game winning streak ended with a 7-4 loss to the Rangers. Dustin May struggled into the fifth inning, and was charged with four runs on six hits. Gary Sánchez hit his 200th career home run.
The Brewers visit the Cubs tonight. Kyle Harrison will pitch against Clay Holmes.
NFL
Packers running back Josh Jacobs is off the field indefinitely. Jacobs was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List yesterday, after he was charged with a pair of misdemeanors stemming from a domestic violence incident in May. That means he’s off the roster and cannot play or practice with the team. He can continue to attend team meetings. The NFL is also investigating the May incident, to see if a suspension is in order. To fill the gap, Green Bay has obtained running back Kaleb Johnson from the Steelers. Johnson was a third-round pick in the 2025 draft, but had not made much of an impression. The Packers give up a sixth-round pick in return.
The Packers have also sent quarterback Kyle McCord to the Dolphins in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round draft pick. McCord played all of Friday’s preseason game, and threw four touchdown passes. He’s in line to become the backup for former Packer Malik Willis, who is the new starter in Miami.
