Bay Ambulance and L’Anse Township will meet next week to continue working toward a resolution on the 2026 contract for services in the community.
Bay Ambulance has provided emergency and medical transportation in Baraga County since millages were established by Baraga Township and L’Anse Township more than 30 years ago.
In 2024, voters in L’Anse Township approved a new millage to support ambulance services. In 2025, the township completed two payments to fulfill a one-year contract.
In recent months, the ambulance provider and the township have exchanged limited communications. L’Anse Township sought to amend the contract in April so payment dates align with when the municipality collects winter taxes.
