MTEC SmartZone announced Tuesday a collaborative effort between the SmartZone, Headwaters North and the Lake Superior Community Partnership will use $850,000 from the Small Business Support Hubs 2.0 program with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Together, the organizations will provide business support to all 15 counties in the Upper Peninsula to create stronger entrepreneurial ecosystems and advance economic development in the region.
The SBSH 2.0 program builds upon the success of the original Small Business Support Hub, which was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new program received more than 100 applications from across Michigan and provided support to 33 projects.
The partnership aims to strengthen small business ecosystems across the Upper Peninsula.
