The Keweenaw Health Foundation announced Tuesday it will award a $20,000 grant to the Copper Country Angel Mission to support renovation plans for the second floor of the Calumet headquarters.
The Copper Country Angel Mission serves individuals and families across Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties, providing access to a food pantry, low-cost items and programs that collect items such as school supplies and gently used winter coats.
The organization’s growth over the years serving the Copper Country has transformed CCAM in recent years, requiring leaders to find solutions to space and storage challenges.
The $20,000 award will support electrical upgrades, plumbing and heating improvements, new walls and flooring, office space, efficient storage and a conference room for board and committee meetings.
