Terry Lee Gilliland of Laurium, Michigan, formerly of Lake Odessa, MI passed away on 07/09/2026 peacefully in his home. He was born 5/1/1953 in Hastings, MI to Thomas and Jacquelyn (Jackie) Gilliland.
Terry spent most of his life doing what he loved, which was working on cars. Whether he was working on his own car or someone else’s vehicle he could always be found in his garage. That was his sanctuary for most of his life. Speed was what he was going for most of the time. Going fast was just what he loved for many years.
Terry had 2 hobbies that he loved, both of which he got from his parents. He loved golf and bowling, he would be the first to tell you that he was not very good at either, but that never stopped him from playing them. He would just go out and have fun.
He had the biggest heart, and could rarely say no to anyone. That was his biggest fault and best quality.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Jackie.
Terry is survived by his brothers Tom (Jane) Gilliland and Brian Gilliland. His sisters Barb Bosworth and Bonnie Mattson. Children Terry (Trista) Gilliland, Anna (Tim) Strand and Holly Gilliland better known as Marz.
Grandchildren Isabella(Tyler) Root, Dustin (Bupe) Strand, Jay (Lexi) Deters, Tyler Plaster and Halie (Rem) Bowen.
Great Grandchildren Aubrianna, Bennett, Sunday, Lane, Anaya, Mazikeen, Liam, Owen and Eli, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
The family will be holding a private service in Laurium and will be having a celebration of life in Lake Odessa at a future date. TBD.
