MLB
Jack Flaherty’s resurgence continued, as the Tigers stopped the Phillies 10-2 last evening. Flaherty allowed two runs on two hits over six innings. He earned the win after Detroit scored five times in the bottom of the sixth, powered by a two-run James Outman triple. Kevin McGonigle hit a two-run homer in the third inning, and Colt Keith and Spencer Torkelson homered in the seventh.
The Tigers have won nine of their last 10 games, and continue that home set against the Phillies tonight. Casey Mize will start against Cristopher Sánchez. Coverage will begin at 5:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers and Pirates were rained out last night. That game will be made up as part of a doubleheader this afternoon. Starters for the opening game have not been announced. Shane Drohan is scheduled to face Bubba Chandler in the second game.
Reliever Bryse Wilson is back with the Brewers. Milwaukee signed him yesterday, after he was designated for assignment by the Cubs, and opted to become a free agent. To make room on the Major League roster, Drew Rom was sent back to Nashville. To open a space on the 40-man roster, Easton McGee was designated for assignment. Wilson appeared in 87 games for the Crew in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He had struggled this year, first with the Phillies, and then with the Cubs.
