An individual was taken into custody following a high-speed crash in Dodgeville on Saturday. A speeding driver was traveling on Main Street in Dodgeville on Saturday around 11:20 pm, when the individual lost control of the vehicle and collided into the corner of an apartment building.
Law enforcement was able to locate the driver after they attempted to flee on foot from the scene. The Houghton County Sheriff Office reports a tenant of the building was transported to a nearby hospital to assess injuries. The sheriff office also reports after the incident the building struck by the vehicle was not safe for residents to return to.
An eyewitness told a reporter the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it looked as though the driver overcompensated for the curve in the road. No other information has been shared at this time.
