Nine Upper Peninsula businesses are receiving a financial boost from the state this week as the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced its latest round of Match on Main grant awards.
In Houghton, two businesses on Sheldon Avenue earned awards. Rhythm Bike Shop, which shares space with Centre Ice and Level Up Apparel, received $25,000. Armando’s Restaurant and Douglass Saloon received $2,500.
In L’Anse, the Village Gift Shop will receive $15,000. In Wakefield, Z’s Hometown Market earned a $25,000 award to support business improvements.
Additional Upper Peninsula businesses receiving Match on Main awards include Falling Rock Cafe, Konisjon Braggeri LLC, Nevaeh Salon, UP-N-Smoke BBQ and Negaunee Holdings LLC.
Statewide, the latest round of Match on Main grants supported 338 jobs and 689 small businesses across Michigan.
