The East Bluff Bike Park has attracted numerous visitors this year and expects even more as summer approaches.
The Copper Harbor Trails Club hosted the first Nordic ski challenge with the East Bluff Meltdown earlier this year. As visitation increases throughout the summer, mountain bikers will anticipate another challenge hosted by the club.
In August, the East Bluffet Mountain Bike Race returns. This year’s race will feature a youth category for younger cyclists.
The East Bluffet race starts at the top of the east bluff with bikers spinning a wheel down the hill to determine their destination before riding back to the top to start their next lap.
“Last year’s 12-hour winner rode 28 laps for 84 miles,” said Adam Yeoman, Copper Harbor Trails Club executive director.
