Michigan State Police honors a retiring inspector following a 31-year career in the Upper Peninsula.
On Friday, the Michigan State Police announced Inspector Randal Danison will retire after 31 years serving communities in Calumet, L’Anse, Wakefield and Negaunee at the District Eight headquarters.
Danison began working with the Michigan State Police in 1995 after attending Central Michigan University and training at the 112th Trooper Recruit School. He was stationed at the L’Anse Post where he served until 2010.
In the following year, Danison was promoted to sergeant, returning to the Hometown Security Team. In 2021, he was promoted from the rank of first lieutenant at the Calumet Post to become the assistant district commander and an inspector working out of the District Eight headquarters.
“It has been a rewarding experience to work with amazing people in the Upper Peninsula, together accomplishing great things to keep the public safe,” Danison said.
His career spans three decades of service across multiple Upper Peninsula communities, reflecting his dedication to public safety and law enforcement in the region.
