Ahead of Pridefest’s celebration of the Copper Country LGBTQIA+ community, organizers host a fundraiser.
On Saturday, Keweenaw Queers hosts an event that will in turn support the organization’s plans at the Calumet Colosseum on June 6. The fundraiser event at BigGoat Farm will include baby goats, music, yoga and connecting with the community.
Starting at 1:30 p.m., Fresh Coast Yoga will lead a session with a second opportunity to stretch and relax at 2:30 p.m. Danielle Perkowitz plans to lead a guided ravine hike after tarot card readings. Throughout the event, Jo Poeschl offers ethereal music to provide the backing sound of summer.
The event on Saturday will ask attendees to donate $10 toward Pridefest at the gate. Attendees should park along the road, as the driveway has been reserved for those in need of accessible parking.
The fundraiser represents community support for an event that celebrates diversity and inclusion in the Copper Country. Pridefest aims to create a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies in the region.
