The clock is ticking down to Bridgefest, with the parade scheduled for three weeks from today.
If you want to be in it, Katie Schlief from the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce suggests you sign up as soon as possible…
We close out registration here at the end of the month. We are cutting it off at 72 entries this year – we have a time limit to get across the bridge for our permit.
This year’s parade theme is a patriotic one, centered around the 250th birthday of the United States. Entries must be decorated.
Schlief says there are just a few spaces left for merchandise vendors at Kestner Park and along the Houghton waterfront…
Probably more like your crafts and your food items and your knick-knack things; artwork and market type things.
There are other events that also require advance registration, including the Thatcher Markham Memorial Run, a co-ed beach volleyball tournament, the Keweenaw Chain Drive Festival, the cornhole tournament, and the Vollwerth’s hot dog eating contest.
