MLB
Jahmai Jones and Dillon Dingler homered as the Tigers clubbed the Red Sox 6-2 yesterday. Both Jones’ solo shot and Dingler’s three-run blast came with two outs in the fifth inning. Dingler wound up with four hits and four RBI. Matt Vierling had two hits and scored twice. Framber Valdez went six innings to earn the win, allowing a run on three hits, and striking out seven.
Those teams play a Patriots Day matinee in Boston today. Jack Flaherty will start against Sonny Gray. Coverage will begin at 10:45 this morning on 99.3 The Lift. The Red Sox always schedule their Patriots Day game early so fans can attend the Boston Marathon afterward.
The Brewers’ four-game win streak ended with a 5-3 loss to the Marlins. Miami got off to a quick start with three runs off Jacob Misiorowski in the first inning. Misiorowski recovered, pitched through the fifth, and didn’t allow any more runs, but the Brewers couldn’t recover.
The Brewers have today off, and open a series at Detroit tomorrow.
