High School
High school volleyball regional semifinals will be played tonight…
- In Division Four, Hancock plays Forest Park at L’Anse High School at 7:00. Coverage will begin around 6:45 on KBear 102.3. The winner will meet either Norway or Ishpeming on Thursday, also at L’Anse High School.
- In Division Three, Jeffers faces Manistique at Gwinn High School at 6:00. There will be no cash ticket purchase option at the door. The winner will face either Johannesburg-Lewiston or Traverse City Saint Francis on Thursday at Newberry.

In other volleyball tournament action tonight involving Upper Peninsula teams…
- In Division Four, Saint Ignace entertains Newberry. The winner will take on either Atlanta or Gaylord Saint Mary.
- In Division Two, Kingsford meets Ogemaw Heights at Newberry. The winner will play either Alma or Essexville-Garber.
College Soccer
The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer tournament opens today..
- NMU is seeded fifth, and will open at Ferris State.
College Volleyball
Michigan Tech freshman Madelynn Kreider has been named the GLIAC Volleyball Setter of the Week. The former Kingsford standout tallied a season-best 69 assists in Friday’s win over Davenport while also recording 13 digs. She added 43 assists and a season-high 15 digs against Ferris State on Saturday.
College Hockey
Two Michigan Tech hockey players have been honored by the CCHA.
Stiven Sardarian was named Forward of the Week after scoring three goals and adding an assist in the sweep of Northern Michigan. He leads the CCHA in points and assists.
Owen Bartoszkiewicz was honored as Goaltender of the Week. He stopped 49-of-52 shots in the Huskies’ sweep of the Wildcats.
NHL
The Red Wings host the Ducks on Thursday. Because of NFL football, coverage will begin at 6:45 on KBear 102.3.
NBA
Cade Cunningham scored 46 points, as the Pistons pulled out a 137-135 overtime victory over the Wizards last night. Cunningham filled out a triple-double with 11 assists and 12 rebounds. Jalen Duren added 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
The Pistons host the Bulls tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks shaded the Mavericks 116-114 last evening. Dallas’ P.J. Washington missed two free throws in the closing seconds that would have forced overtime. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points – 15 in the fourth quarter.
The Bucks visit the Hornets tomorrow.
Milwaukee will be without Taurean Prince indefinitely. He’s been diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck.
NFL
The Eagles held off the Packers 10-7 in last night’s NFL game. After a scoreless first half, Philadelphia kicked a field goal in the third quarter, and added a touchdown early in the fourth. Green Bay finally found the endzone on a 6-yard Josh Jacobs run with less than six minutes remaining. They got the ball back after a fourth-down stop in the final minute, but Brandon McManus’ 64-yard field goal attempt fell short as time ran out.
