Mary V. Zugel of Calumet, Michigan passed away on February 28, 2025 in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Mary was born on November 13, 1949 at Laurium Hospital to Charles and Dolores (Rowe) Ryding.
In 1967, Mary graduated from Calumet High School. She also graduated from the Gogebic Community College Beautician Program as a hairdresser.
Mary worked in the Paoli Market in White Pine, MI. Then she owned and operated the Copper Curl Hair Salon until moving to Henderson, Nevada in 1998 where she retired from Walmart in customer service in 2016.
On October 11, 1986 she married the love of her life John (Rich) Zugel. Together they loved to travel covering all 50 United States and parts of Canada and Mexico. She also enjoyed camping, deer hunting, fishing, and working in her yard.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dolores, also a brother Douglas Ryding.
Mary is survived by her husband John (Rich) Zugel, two sons Kurt (Jennie) Thomas of Green, Michigan and Jay Thomas of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren Hailey Rae, Ashley, Alex, Emma, and Braylon; brothers Thomas (Darlene) Ryding and Jeffery Ryding, both from Calumet; special niece Lori Morris of Wausau, Wisconsin, also Darren and Kaisa and aunts Judith, Buxy (Carolyn), Cheryl Jean and uncle Mark and many cousins.
As per Mary’s request, there will be no funeral services. She will be greatly missed by many and all that knew her.
