One driver was taken to a hospital, and one driver was pronounced dead in a fatal two car crash in Ontonagon on Tuesday.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff office responded to a report of a personal injury two car crash on M-28 near Lepponen road, west of Bruce Crossing. EMS personnel were able to perform life saving measures at the scene on a female victim. The 21-year-old driver was later transported to Aspirus Ironwood Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Police determined a 73-year-old woman died at the scene.
Law enforcement will share details on the incident following a completed investigation. Ontonagon County Sheriff was assisted by the MSP Wakefield Post, SONCO South Ambulance Service, Beacon ALS, Bruce crossing fire department, and Lahti’s towing.
