Free ORV Weekend, taking place Aug. 19-20, offers resident and nonresidents the chance to explore Michigan’s state-designated routes and trails, no permit needed.
A temporary closure of a section of an ORV route will be in effect in Ontonagon County for a few days. From today, Nov. 2 through Wednesday, Nov. 4, ORV trail BN is undergoing work on trail bridges over the Firesteel River.
The work will be taking place between where ORV Route BN crosses M-38 and M-26, which is located east of Greenland and southeast of Ontonagon. Signs will be posted and barricades erected for the duration of the project.
Unfortunately, for those interested in utilizing the trail, no detour options are available, meaning that all travel in that section of route BN will be suspended entirely.
The Michigan DNR maintains a complete list of closures on their website, including this and others. To find it, visit Michigan.gov/DNRClosures
