The Upper Peninsula Honor Flight was presented with a check from the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock last Saturday. $5,316 was raised by the Resurrection Parish Fellowship Team from their recent fashion show fundraiser.
A small reception was held on Saturday morning, where UP Honor Flight President Scott Knauf accepted the generous donation. He stated the UPHF makes two flights a year, one in the first half and one in the latter, with each costing over $135 thousand to perform. The church Fellowship Team responded that they hope their donation can help out with their costs and make it a yearly occurrence.
Veterans that have served in the U.S. Military may be eligible to take part in the Honor Flight program, which flies them down to Washington D.C. to visit their respective memorial and reflect on their experiences.
