Robert Carl Kiviniemi, born on December 30, 1934 passed away on September 22, 2026 at 91 years of age at the Omega House in Houghton after a long illness.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Eva, father Illmer, brothers Donald and James, son Kurt, daughter Peggy Sue, and his companion, Buddy who preceded him in death one week earlier.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda; grandson Kyle (Jessica) Kiviniemi, and two great-granddaughters, Jerzey and Kammie of Ashbury, Iowa.
Among the many things he enjoyed in life, his favorite occupation was sailing the Great Lakes, where he found joy in the open water and the beauty of the lakes.
There will be a graveside service for Robert at Lake View Cemetery in Calumet, Michigan on Monday September 28, 2026 at 11:00am with Pastor Nolan to officiate.
