U.S. Army Sgt. Robert James Goldsworthy, age 22, Lake Linden, Michigan native, was listed as missing in action, World War II, since Dec. 17, 1944. His remains were identified on Sept. 8, 2025, from the Lorraine American Cemetery in Saint-Avold, France. He will be laid to rest at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden, Michigan, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The American Legion, Post 90 will conduct Military Rites. Representatives from the US Army will escort the remains of Sgt Goldsworthy to the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden.
