What began as a backyard game in Eagle Harbor has evolved into an international competition. The Guts Players Association returns this weekend with the 68th Coca-Cola International Frisbee Tournament at Hancock Driving Park, drawing teams from across the globe.
“We’re inducting Bud DePetro from Marquette, Scott Smith from Marquette, Stephen ‘Desi’ DesJardins from Downstate, Jana Field from Downstate, and local Jim Boggio from Eagle Harbor,” said Ron Blau, tournament organizer.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rachel Balu Memorial Theater inside the Hancock Community Hub. A complimentary social begins at 6 p.m.
Tournament play begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the driving park. The Hall of Fame resides at the Calumet Colosseum.
