Let’s Eat Community Meals continues to provide nutrition and activity after five years of community service.
Last week, Let’s Eat Community Meals started the fifth year of Games and Snacks. The weekly activity at Agassiz Park and CLK Schools has provided a space for students and elders in the community to enjoy delicious snacks and fun activities.
Each week, the program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Calumet area. The program invites students and seniors from the nearby area to participate from noon to 1 p.m.
Let’s Eat Community Meals’ Games and Snacks program receives support from Walmart of Houghton and volunteers Marie and Bob Nichols, Paela Oates and Dianna Jones.
Those interested in supporting the meals program, volunteering or learning more about programs can find more details about Let’s Eat Community Meals online.
On Saturday Let’s Eat Community Meals offers a meal site in Chassell at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The meal is sponsored by The Church of the Resurrection in Hancock. The meal will begin at 4pm, and will serve chicken Strips, baked beans, salad, and fresh fruit.
