The Hurricanes downed the Golden Knights 5-3 last night, to tie the Stanley Cup series 2-2. Game five will be played in Carolina tomorrow.

MLB
Dillon Dingler hit two home runs, as the Tigers pounded the Twins 10-4 last night. Dingler finished with four hits and four RBI. Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter also homered. Troy Melton gave up four solo home runs through five innings, but earned the win.
The Tigers host the Twins again this evening. Framber Valdez will start for Detroit. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers dropped a 7-5 decision to the Athletics in Las Vegas last night. Robert Gasser struggled again, giving up six runs on eight hits over five innings. Jackson Chourio homered.
The Brewers and Athletics wrap up that series tonight. Milwaukee has not named a starter.
The Brewers have locked another one of their prospects in with a long-term contract. This time, it’s their number-five prospect, 21-year-old switch-hitting outfielder Luis Lara. He and the club have agreed to a seven-year contract, with three club options that could extend it through the 2035 season. Reports say the contract will guarantee about $31 million, and could pass $70 million with options and incentives. Lara is hitting .338 at Nashville this season, and has stolen 19 bases.
Lara joins Jackson Chourio and Cooper Pratt on the list of young players who have signed long-term with the Crew. Chourio is starring with the Brewers. Pratt is batting .248 while playing shortstop for the Sounds.
Fishing
Two big fishing tournaments are coming up this weekend.
The Keweenaw Bay Classic opens with a preview event on Friday. Fishing for the main tournament will begin Saturday morning at 5:00 on Keweenaw and Huron Bays. For full details and registration information, click here, or look for Keweenaw Classic on Eventbrite.
The annual Rice Lake Fishing Derby will be held Sunday. It’s a family event, with entry fees just $5 for adults, $3 for juniors, and $1 for kids. Sign up at the Lake Linden-Hubbell Sportsmen’s Association clubouse on Rice Lake Road Saturday evening between 6:00 and 8:00, or Sunday morning when fishing opens at 7:00.
