The Brewers outslugged the Rockies 9-7 last evening. Milwaukee trailed 3-1 until they erupted for four runs in the top of the ninth. Colorado scored two off Trevor Magill in the bottom of the ninth to force extra time. The Crew scored four more runs in the top of the 10th, with help from a two-run Jake Bauers double. The Rockies responded with two off Aaron Ashby in the bottom of the 10th, but with two on and no outs, Ashby induced a double play, and then struck out Jake McCarthy to end the game. Bauers finished with three hits and three RBI.
The Brewers visit the Rockies again tonight. Jacob Misiorowski will pitch for Milwaukee. Colorado has not named a starter.
The injury that forced reliever D.L. Hall out of Thursday’s game has been diagnosed as a left pectoral strain. He’ll miss four to six weeks, and has been placed on the injured list. Pitchers Brian Fitzpatrick and Craig Yoho have been brought up from Nashville. One will take Hall’s place. The other replaces Jake Woodford, who was designated for assignment.
