Ruth Esther Dahlgren (Wegmann) of Mohawk, Michigan passed away on May 13, 2026 in Marquette, Michigan.
Ruth was born on August 27, 1935 in Meilen, Switzerland to parents Hans and Hannah.
Ruth traveled widely in Europe studying multiple languages with the goal of becoming a stewardess for Swiss Air when she met an Air Force Man, Art Dahlgren at a 4th of July party in Toledo, Spain. They were married in 1960 in Switzerland.
Ruth raised her three sons and a daughter in Germany and the U.S. as a military family. She loved nature and birdwatching, especially hummingbirds that arrived at her feeders each June.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Art, and her daughter Jennifer. She is survived by her sons Jon, Jim, and Jeff, and her older brother Ueli in Switzerland.
A memorial service was held for Ruth at Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk, Michigan on May 17, 2026. Ruth was laid to rest next to her husband in Pine Grove Cemetery.
