Seniors graduating at the end of spring will gear up to begin college during an upcoming festival.
In April, MTU GEAR UP and TRIO precollege programs host the Bright Futures Fair with the Copper Country Intermediate School District. The open house format will help students build academic skills and explore future education opportunities while connecting with local resources.
The event is open to all students attending schools in the Copper Country, from freshmen with plenty of time to seniors feeling the pressure to make a big decision soon.
At the fair, Tech Tutors will set up a drop-in tutoring station. Students can also practice organizational skills at the TRIO Study Skills Table. During the event, organizers will also run an Entrepreneurship Simulation. Students participating in that activity can even earn scholarship awards to attend upcoming summer youth programs at Michigan Technological University.
The Bright Futures Fair with MTU GEAR UP, TRIO, and the CCISD will occur on April 8. Those interested in attending can find more information online.
