Saving a life can be as simple as having a conversation.
Next week Copper Shores Outreach and Education hosts a free QPR training opportunity. QPR, or Question, Respond and Refer, is a suicide and abuse prevention technique designed to intervene and get an individual to seek mental health services.
The program will also include an optional 30-minute Narcan training opportunity after the QPR training session. The class is free to attend and encourages healthcare providers around Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties to participate. Seating is limited.
Copper Shores Prevention Coordinator Lisa Simpson will lead the QPR and Narcan training March 26th. Those interested in learning more about QPR training opportunities in the western Upper Peninsula or other Outreach and Education programs can find more details here.
