The USDA opens the 2026 Value Added Producer grant program to support rural agricultural business. The Value Added Producer grants will help agricultural producers expand market opportunities and convert raw commodities into higher value products.
Rural Development Under Secretary Neal Robbins says such programs sustain jobs and expand an agricultural business’ reach into markets. The grants will support feasibility studies, planning activities, business plans, marketing strategies and working capital needs in processing, packaging, advertising, inventory and personnel.
Michigan State Director for Rural Development Dom Restuccia adds the program encompasses everything from turning grapes into wine and milk into creams and cheese.
