Michigan Senate hopeful Beau LaFave has earned the endorsement of U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman. On Tuesday, the Beau LaFave for State Senate campaign announced the former state representative has Bergman’s support. LaFave represented the 108th District in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2017 to 2022. Bergman said he is proud to endorse LaFave for the 38th State Senate District, praising his work ethic and conservative values. LaFave said he is honored to receive the congressman’s endorsement.
LaFave faces multiple challengers for the 38th district senate seat. Currently held by Senator Ed McBroom, who is term limited, the 38th Senate district represents communities in the Upper Peninsula. The district does not include eastern portions of Mackinaw and Chippewa counties. Sitting 108th district representative Dave Prestin also seeks the republican party nomination in the state senate race. Delta County Commission Kelli Van Ginhoven and Dickinson County veteran Chris Mapps each seek the nomination for the democratic party in the election for the 38th district.
