Baraga County Chamber of Commerce partners with the Upward Talent Council to present the 2026 Business of the Year award. Later this month, the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce will bring together the chamber’s membership at its annual meeting and member appreciation banquet. During the event, members will have a chance to vote for the area’s 2026 business of the year. The award recognizes a business in the region that demonstrates a commitment to excellence, responsible leadership and a passion for the community.
UP Michigan Works Business Services Specialist Benjamin Wilson says Upward Talent Council is excited to partner with the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce to recognize businesses that drive the community’s economy and proudly celebrate the area’s employers. The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce will continue to accept 2026 business of the year nominations until Feb. 16. On Feb. 19, the chamber will gather at the American Legion Post 144 for its banquet. At the event, members in attendance will vote for the 2026 business of the year award.
Nominations for the prestigious economic award will need to include a business’ name, a brief description of the reason for the nomination, and your name and contact information. Nominations can be submitted online via email or dropped off at the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce office in L’Anse. Nomination submissions should include:
• Name of the business being nominated
• A description of why the business deserves recognition
• Name and contact information (address, phone number, and email) of the person submitting the nomination

Nominations may be dropped off at: Baraga County Chamber of Commerce, 1 N Main St, L’Anse, MI 49946 or emailed to baragachamberoffice@gmail.com. Nominations must be received by February 16, 2026 to be considered.
Voting & Recognition
After nominations are collected, a ballot will be prepared. Voting will take place in person at the Chamber Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Banquet on February 19, 2026.
The winning business will receive:
• A commemorative plaque
• Promotion across Chamber social media channels
• A news release shared with local media
• A complimentary 2026–2027 Chamber Business Level Membership (valued at $175
