Michigan Tech introduced a 42-player football recruiting class on national signing day yesterday.

NHL
The Red Wings dropped a 4-1 decision to the Utah Mammoth last night. Dylan Larkin scored Detroit’s only goal. John Gibson made 21 saves.
The Wings are off until February 26th because of the Olympics break.
NBA
The Pistons welcome the Wizards tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
Ryan Rollins scored 27 as the Bucks turned back the Pelicans 141-137 in overtime last evening.
The Bucks entertain the Pacers tomorrow.
MLB
The Tigers have reeled in the top free-agent starting pitcher still available. Framber Valdez has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal worth $115 million. He can opt out after the second year. At age 32, Valdez joins the Tigers after eight seasons with the Astros. He has a lifetime record of 81 wins and 52 losses, with an ERA of 3.36.
A decision is expected today in the arbitration case involving the Tigers and starter Tarik Skubal. Skubal wants $32 million, and the team has offered $19 million. The arbiter must choose one or the other.
Tigers fans are mourning the death of pitcher Mickey Lolich. Lolich was the hero of the 1968 World Series, winning three games, and hitting his only career home run in the process. He holds the Tigers records for strikeouts in a single season and a career, shutouts, and games started. Mickey Lolich was 85.
