NHL
The Red Wings snapped their three-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over the Avalanche last night. Marco Kasper’s goal 33 seconds into the game was the only score until Lucas Raymond added an empty-netter with 31 seconds remaining. John Gibson made 21 saves.

Red Wings’ radio broadcast analyst Paul Woods will retire at the end of the season. Woods joined play-by-play man Bruce Martyn in the broadcast booth in 1987, just after he concluded seven years playing with the team. He remained as current play-by-play voice Ken Kal replaced Martin in 1995. He is the longest-serving color analyst for any of Detroit’s sports teams in history. Woods is 70 years old, and says he wants to spend more time with his family.
NBA
The Pistons host the Nuggets tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks entertain the Bulls this evening.
MLB
Both the Tigers and the Brewers will have new television homes this season. Both are leaving the financially beleaguered FanDuel Sports Network, which is owned by Main Street Sports Group. Main Street has missed broadcast rights payments to several baseball teams, and seems to be headed rapidly to a second trip to bankruptcy court. The company has been undercut by the rapid decline in cable television viewership, which has reduced subscription and advertising revenue. The Brewers have confirmed that their games will be available through MLB TV this summer. That solution also seems likely for the Tigers, but no announcement has been made.
