Editor’s Note: The United States Coast Guard has announced this ice-breaking operation will begin on January 21st, and finish on the 25th.
The United States Coast Guard will begin commercial icebreaking operations near Escanaba until Wednesday.
On Friday, the USCG Great Lakes District announced plans to complete a four-day icebreaking operation in the waters of Escanaba. The United States Coast Guard reminds recreational users to plan trips on the ice carefully and cautions ice near areas where icebreakers operate may present dangerous ice conditions.
