Carole Rose Mannikko, age 83, of L’Anse, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Bayside Village in L’Anse.
She was born on January 22, 1942, in Auburn, New York, the daughter of Fredrick and Mary (Robinson) Cholette. On January 26, 1963, Carole was united in marriage to Leonard Mannikko in Auburn, New York, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than six decades.
Carole was a faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially cross-stitching and reading, and cherished time spent with her family.
Surviving Carole are her loving husband, Leonard Mannikko of L’Anse; her daughter, Mary Remer of Mt. Pleasant, WI; her brothers, William (Barb) Cholette of Auburn, New York, and Joe (Carol) Cholette of The Villages, Florida; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Mary Cholette; her son, Christopher Mannikko; her daughter, Ann Oakes; and her son William Mannikko.
In accordance with Carole’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest in Herman Cemetery.
