NFL
With their playoff hopes hanging by a thread yesterday, the Lions unraveled, and lost to the Vikings 23-10. In a must-win game, the Lions committed six turnovers – five by quarterback Jared Goff, who threw two interceptions, and lost three fumbles. Goff was sacked five times. The Detroit defense sacked Minnesota’s undrafted rookie fill-in quarterback Max Brosmer seven times and held him to just 51 passing yards, but the Lions couldn’t overcome a litany of mistakes. The loss eliminated Detroit from the playoffs, and clinched a playoff berth for the Packers.
The Cowboys outscored the Commanders 30-23 in the opener of yesterday’s tripleheader. The Broncos outlasted the Chiefs 20-13 in the Christmas nightcap.
There are two NFL games tomorrow. The Texans visit the Chargers for a 4:30 contest. The Packers host the Ravens in an 8:00 game. Coverage of both games will begin at 4:00 on 99.3 The Lift.
