Michigan State Police announced officers in the Eighth District to earn employee of the year awards. On Monday the Michigan State Police Eighth District, that encompasses the entire Upper Peninsula, announced two troopers will earn employee of the year, and the district will award one civilian employee of the year award.
Trooper Ryan Rossler of the Iron Mountain post and MCO Bruce Brown of the Sault Ste. Marie post will each earn the MSP Employee of the Year award for outstanding service and dedication to their profession. Additionally, the state police’s Eighth District will award Tammy Williamson of the St. Ignace post, the civilian employee of the year award.
Trooper Rossler was recognized for the award due to several occasions he went beyond his line of work to ensure the safety of the public when responding to emergency calls, and working as a canine handler. MCO Bruce Brown earns his employee of the year award in recognition of his leadership and proactive work in construction zones.
Tammy Williamson earns the civilian employee of the year award to recognize the important work support staff provide at posts. Whether Williamson is checking in on troopers, or helping to keep them organized, she exemplifies the important role all people working for Michigan State Police play in public safety.
