In boys basketball last night…
- Houghton pounded West Iron County 80-47. Terrance Nolan had 32 points for the Gremlins, Alex Hebert added 15, and Mason Mayo 12. Seth Oberlin had 21 points for the Wykons.
- Calumet shaded Lake Linden-Hubbell 55-50. Peter Torola led the Copper Kings with 18 points, and Owen Loukus and Andrew Junttila each had 14. Blake Lebo scored 20 for the Lakes, and Josh Daavettila added 16.
- Ontonagon got past Ewen-Trout Creek 42-34.
In girls action last night…
- Calumet fell to Ishpeming 47-35. Bailey Strom led the Copper Kings with 12 points. Jenessa Eagle scored 24 points for the Hematites, which boosted her into second place on Ishpeming’s all-time girls scoring list.
- Lake Linden-Hubbell shut down Jeffers 36-28.
- L’Anse dispatched Forest Park 63-42.

College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team skates at Ferris State tonight and tomorrow.
The NMU hockey squad hosts Saint Thomas tonight and tomorrow.
College Basketball
The Northern Michigan men’s basketball team smothered Concordia 87-35 last night. Cal Klesmit paced the Wildcats with 19 points. NMU led 55-10 at halftime, and out-rebounded the Falcons 57-14.
Both NMU teams are off this weekend.
The Michigan Tech women’s team plays at Missouri-Saint Louis tomorrow afternoon.
The Tech men’s team entertains Wisconsin-Stout tomorrow at 5:00.
GLHL
The Calumet Wolverines and Portage Lake Pioneers play a home-and-home series this weekend. Tonight’s game is at Dee Stadium, and tomorrow’s is at the Colosseum. Both begin at 7:30.
NHL
The Red Wings’ six-game point streak ended with a 4-1 loss to the Oilers last night. Simon Edvinsson scored Detroit’s only goal. Cam Talbot made 28 saves.
The Wings visit the Blackhawks tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit has placed Mason Appleton on injured reserve, and called Erik Gustafsson up from Grand Rapids to fill in.
NBA
The Bucks downed the Celtics 116-101 last night. Kyla Kuzma scored 31.
The Bucks visit the Nets Sunday.
The Pistons return to action tonight, when they host the Hawks. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
NFL
In last night’s NFL Contest, Zane Gonzalez’s 43-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Falcons to a 29-28 victory over the Buccaneers. Atlanta scored 16 points in the final 10 minutes to earn the comeback win.
The Lions visit the Rams for a 4:25 game Sunday, with coverage on 99.3 The Lift.
The Packers visit the Broncos for a 4:25 contest.
