Michigan State Police will help Copper Country fight food insecurity.
Next week, troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post will set up Stuff a Blue Goose sites in Houghton, Calumet and L’Anse. Stuff a Blue Goose encourages shoppers to pick up items or donate funds to support law enforcement collecting food for pantries. For many years, the Stuff a Blue Goose program has supported local food pantries while encouraging interactions between law enforcement and the public.
On Dec. 11, Michigan State Police will set up a cruiser in front of Pat’s Foods in Calumet and at Pat’s Foods in L’Anse. On Dec. 13, the troopers plan to host the rescheduled site at Tadych’s Marketplace in Houghton.
In 2024, Stuff the Blue Goose event collected more than 4,000 pounds of food and raised more than $50,000 for food pantries. Learn more about Stuff a Blue Goose online.
