The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation partners with the Superior Health Foundation and the Michigan Health Endowment Fund to support 14 Upper Peninsula organizations working with seniors in communities.
On Tuesday, BCBSM announced its partnership with the Superior Health Foundation and Michigan Health Endowment Fund to award 14 grants totaling $632,590 supporting organizations such as Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, the National Kidney Foundation chapter in Baraga County, Upper Great Lakes Family Health Centers in Houghton County, New Day Foundations for Families and the Munising Memorial Hospital Association.
Awards range from $20,000 to $50,000. Michigan residents 65 and older make up 23% of those living in the Upper Peninsula compared to 18% in the Lower Peninsula.
