Lake Linden Hubbell Schools search for an interim superintendent to finish the year will continue.
At a special meeting in October, the district’s board of education appointed the Copper Country Intermediate School District Interim Superintendent and will cover duties until December 8th. At a regular meeting Monday night, the Lake Linden Board of Education determined it will pre-screen three candidates who have applied for the interim superintendent position, that will complete the academic year. In the hope, to determine when a candidate may begin working in the district, and how much in-person time that individual might provide if hired.
The district’s board members also requested the Michigan Association of School Boards to post the position for the full-time superintendent role, to begin July 1st, 2026, on the MASB job board. The Lake Linden Hubbell School District hopes to attract a qualified superintendent candidate by joining other districts and potential employees during the traditional job search timeframe. If all goes to plan, the Lake Linden Hubbell School’s Board of Education will interview candidates for the role in April 2026.
Parents in attendance voiced concerns that the district’s lack of in-person leadership over the past six months has worn on teachers and staff. A special meeting of the Superintendent Search Committee will meet November 11th, at 4 pm.
A special meeting has been scheduled for November 17th to consider candidates for the Interim Superintendent. The Board of Education will meet in room 102 of the Lake Linden High School at 5:30 pm.
