The heavy rainfall that hit northern Baraga County early Thursday morning has left a number of roads either damaged, or impassable. This is an updated list as of 2:00 pm, May 16th.

Damage to Old US-41/Jurmu Road south of the Community of Keweenaw Bay
The Baraga County Road Commission has posted the following:
In the Village of L’Anse:

- East Falls River Drive at Secret Creek
- Passable with caution –
- Golden Road past the Trailer Park
Greater L’Anse Area:
- Closures –
- Pequaming Road by Marksman Road
- Indian Cemetery Road
- Passable with Caution –
- Arvon Road
- Skanee Road
In the Village of Baraga
- Passable with Caution –
- East Spruce Street
- McGillan Street
- Walking trail along the lake
Greater Baraga Area
- Closures –
- North Beartown Road near Keweenaw Bay

In addition, the L’Anse Wastewater Treatment Plant is experiencing high flows and sewer overloads. Officials ask you to avoid the area near the plant, along with flood waters and beaches, which may be contaminated.
