Incredible Bank will contribute 10,000 dollars toward CopperDog in 2025. Bring the local banking institution’s total contribution to the sled dog race over the last 15 years to 150,000 dollars. Since CopperDog’s creation, Incredible Bank has played a crucial role, not only through financial support but also by providing space for the pre-race vet check station at the Calumet branch. Incredible Bank employees also support CopperDog as some of the many volunteers assisting throughout the weekend.
Copper Dog race director Kelly Probst says the race simply could not be where it is today without Incredible Bank’s support, generosity, and involvement. Incredible bank market manager Jamie Thyrion adds the race represents the heart and soul of the Keweenaw community, and brings together mushers, dogs, volunteers, and spectators to celebrate endurance, teamwork, and winter adventure.
Those interested in signing up to volunteer during Copper Dog still have plenty of time and options for how to get involved. Many positions set up road crossings, but other volunteers assist with bag checks each day of the race or help handle dogs coming into and leaving town.
