Sharon Poisson, 84, of Hubbell passed away peacefully at home Friday, March 27th, after a period of declining health. She was born April 25, 1941 to Clarence and Mariette (Gagnon) Germain. She was the eldest of five, growing up in Lake Linden and attending St. Joseph and Lake Linden-Hubbell schools, graduating in 1959.
Sharon was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Poisson on September 29, 1962. They were married almost 51 years, until he passed away on July 3rd, 2013. She worked for Superior National Bank and later for 1st National Bank of Lake Linden and Calumet as a proof operator until she retired in 2004.
Sharon was a warm, loving lady who had a strong faith and deep love for her family and friends. Her most precious moments were family get-togethers, dinners out, traveling, and many summers at the family camp in Bootjack. For many years, Sharon and Bob watched their children play sports and play in the band and later attended many LL-H football games. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, garage sales, Hallmark movies, and game shows.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jim Germain, former brother-in-law Dick (Wendy) Stuffle, and all of Bob’s siblings and their spouses.
Sharon is survived by her children, Denise (Keith) Cormier of Allegan, MI, Scott (Marie) Poisson of Port Edwards, WI, Diane (David) Webster of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Michael (Pam Hine) Poisson of Hubbell, as well as her grandchildren, Andy (Aubrie) Bruinsma, Matt Bruinsma, Shane (Alex) Poisson, Kayla (Tylor Rickard) Poisson, Lucas (Emily) Poisson, Trevor LeBlanc, Logan (Jayda Limanen) Poisson, and Hannah Poisson. She also had six great-grandchildren and one on the way. She will also be missed by her siblings, Gloria “Peachy” Stuffle, Brian (Peggy) Germain, and Donna (Wayne) Racine, as well as many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver, Cecelia Trevino, and the doctors, nurses, and physical therapists who took care of her the last few years. Special thanks also to the friends who gave her rides to appointments and church and to the ladies from Community Action who helped with cleaning.
A visitation celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden on Tuesday, April 7th, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 8th at 11:00 A.M. at St Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Father Raju Jose to celebrate. Cremation has taken place, and her ashes will be interred in July. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts be made to Meals on Wheels, Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, or St. Joseph Church.
