High School
On high school hockey last night…
- Calumet mercied Kingsford 8-0. Kaden Cronenworth scored the game-winner three minutes into the contest. Brady Boberg, Erik Loukus, Luke Hamlin, Robert Loukus, Dylan Crouch, Jax Carlson and Nathan Keranen each scored once. Beau Jukuri got the win in net, as the Kings outshot the Flivvers 39-8.

- Calumet fell to Westwood 65-17.
- Jeffers got past Chassell 55-45.
- Ontonagon downed Ewen-Trout Creek 49-40.

- L’Anse outscored Houghton 64-34.
- Calumet stopped West Iron County 58-37. Kyla Strom led the Copper Kings with 17 points, and Bailey Strom added 16.
- Hancock turned back Lake Linden-Hubbell 58-31.
- Baraga shut down Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 72-32.
- Jeffers lost to Wakefield-Marenisco 42-30.
- Ewen-Trout Creek smothered Ontonagon 75-13.
- Forest Park overpowered North Dickinson 44-29.

College Basketball
Both Michigan Tech basketball teams overcame slow starts to earn wins at Purdue Northwest last night.
- Alyssa Wypych had 17 points and 9 rebounds in the women’s 63-59 victory. The Huskies sank six free throws in the final 35 seconds to seal the win.
- Dawson Norgaard’s layup with 13 seconds remaining gave the 13th-ranked men’s team a 63-61 win. Nordgaard finished with 20 points.
Both Tech teams play at Wayne State tomorrow.
The Northern Michigan squads split their games at Wayne State last night.
- The 12th-ranked women’s team committed a season-high 17 turnovers, and fell 84-63. Sydney Whitehouse had 12 points.
- The 17th-ranked men’s team led by 22 at halftime, and cruised to an 82-62 victory. Dylan Kuehl scored 19.
Both Northern teams play at Purdue Northwest tomorrow.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team skates at Lake Superior State tonight and tomorrow.
The Northern Michigan hockey team visits Ferris State tonight and tomorrow.
GLHL
The Portage Lake Pioneers have a busy weekend. They’ll skate at Eagle River tonight, then host the Falcons Saturday at 7:30, and entertain the De Pere Deacons Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
The Calumet Wolverines will host the Deacons tomorrow night at 7:30. That game will feature Put the Puck to Cancer events and gear sales to raise money for Keweenaw Random Acts of Community Kindness.
NHL
The Red Wings are off until February 26th because of the Olympics break.
NBA
Playing without Jalen Duren and Ksaiah Stewart, the Pistons still humbled the Raptors 113-95 last night. Cade Cunningham had 28 points, and Tobias Harris grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Bucks turned down the Thunder 110-93 last night. Seven Milwaukee players scored in double figures, led by recently-acquired Ousmane Dieng with 19.
Both teams are off until late next week because of the All Star break.
MLB
The Brewers and catcher William Contreras have avoided arbitration. Contreras has agreed to a contract that will pay him $9.4 million this season. Milwaukee has $14.5 million option to keep him for next season.
