Wolf and moose researchers on Isle Royale provide the latest update on the team’s work. As of last week, Feb. 3, the annual wolf and moose study has observed moose individuals in 91 survey plots. Each survey plot is equal to 1 square kilometer. This concludes the moose survey portion of the study. On Wednesday, Feb. 4, an aerial crew began focus on surveying wolves on the island. Aerial observations found five individual wolves on the ice of the north shore. You can keep up with updates throughout the Isle Royale Wolf and Moose study team online.
