Gogebic Community College officials are beginning their search for a new president.
Current president Chris Patritto’s resignation was approved this week by the college’s board of trustees. It’s effective July 1st, but Patritto indicated that he’s willing to remain in office, or in advisory role, until a successor is found.
Patritto said he wishes to spend more time with his family.
Trustees said that a formal plan to guide the search and selection will be released within the next few weeks.
Patritto began his role as the 10th president of the college January 2nd, 2024. He is a GCC alumnus who began his career as a teacher in the Hurley School District, and eventually served for 15 years as that district’s administrator.
